Snorkeling Riviera Maya

Anyone have any ideas on best snorkeling at or near Riviera Maya?
Are there good trips you can take from there or should we plan a day trip to either Cozumel or Isle Mejures?
We are staying at the Grand Mayan Riviera Maya so I guess I need to take that in to consideration when considering a day trip to Isle Mejures. Have heard that the reefs in in Isle Mejures are very good and can be easily reached from shore and also that a boat trip from Cozumel goes to very good snorkeling reefs also.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We leave Nov 10th, counting days finally.

Ken, check my trip report. I went on a snorkeling trip that was awesome and it wasn't too far away. I can't remember the name of it. I went on 2 or 3 trips and they were all pretty good. shaggy

Thanks for the info, I checked out your trip log.
Also, went back and looked at your photos again. Liked the Chichen Itza ones and especially liked the ones you took in various shops. I like to do that also, you get some very interesting photos that way.

Ken, you might try Yalku lagoon a bit north of Akumal for some shallow lagoon snorkeling.

Ken, I'm glad I could be of help. I'm glad you like my pics. I just bought a new camera. I couldn't resist. I bought the Sony SLR . 10 mg pix , camera of the year!! I'm loosing my mind. I'm taking it to Disney. Let's see how this does!!

I hope some day we end up in the same area on our travels so we could go out and shoot pics!! shaggy
