  • Got back from the Club Regina in PV on Saturday

    We had a great trip.

We stayed at the Club Regina @ the Westin in the marina area.

    Great location.

    OK resort.

The Westin hotel side was very nice, the Club side is showing it's age.

The maid we had was names Guadalupe, and was great.

She kept making us Towel animals, and bringing us flowers.

The main pool was closed to resurfacing, and it reopened on Thursday.

We got out fishing and had a ball. The boat was so, so,
the gear had seen much better days,
but we caught 5 Albacore Tuna and a very nice Yellow Fin Tuna.

We took one of the smaller fish and half of the yellow fin, and gave the crew the rest.

The El Palmar restaurant @ the WESTIN prepared it for 120 pesos each, ( two of us) which included the veggies, rice, and three great sauces.

We ended up bringing 6 pretty good size chunks home frozen in our luggage.

I don't know if it was because of it being a slow season, but we received 3500 pesos for the GM tour, and 4000 pesos for the Belare tour. We turned down others, but if I counted right, we could have gotten over 20K pesos for tours within a week

The computer access in now in the Club lounge, not the business center, and only one day was anyone checking to see if you were allowed . They also close on Saturday, they also don't have any printers, so when you need to get your boarding passes, use the business center. There you pay 30 pesos for 15 minutes, and 3 pesos per page , but you get a 20% discount as a Club resident.

The Mayan Palace next door is having some great specials, there dinner buffet on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday is 2 for 1 between 6 and 8 pm.

I have a new map for the PV Marina MP if anyone needs it. It is too large to upload here.

The exchange rate was 10.50 pesos to the USD at both resorts. It varied around town from 10 to 11 to one.

Most of the places we eat were great, except the Blue Shrimp, their food was
below average and their prices were very high, which is a shame as last year they were great and reasonable.

All in all it was a stellar trip, one of the best we have had in years.

    Greg
