Extra Nights in Cancun

In order to use FF miles for my upcoming trip to Mayan Palace in January (Thank you , Joy!!),
I need to stay 3 extra nights in Cancun.

I found this special at Ambience Villas for $102 per room per night on the beach.

Ambiance Villas - Cancun

Is anyone familiar with this resort or have any other suggestions or recommendations???

Looks like this place is on the Bay side(minimal wave activity) of the Cancun hotel zone and near Plaza Forum (on the downtown side). I am not familiar with it- perhaps it was renamed somewhere along the line. An alternative might be a rental at one of the Royals- either direct or via Vacation Rentals for the 3 days.

Before it was remodelled about 5 years ago it was called Kin-Ha. It is very nice, close to everything and with a great beach.

Thanks Paul and thanks Jim. Kin Ha- I remember walking by it on one of our many Cancun walks, but where it is/was isn't clearly in my memory. I found it on an old map and it seems to be within a walk of the restaurant La Palapa- if one can make it across the road alive.

I see 2 units at the Royal Sands for rent on Ebay one for Jan. 5-12 and the other the 12-19th. High bid so far for both is $ 0.99. Could be a steal at under $ 300.

Try using Priceline.com I got the Weston a few years back for under $100 a night.

It is in between the El Presidente Intercontinental and an Oasis hotel that used to be a Calinda. Very close to shopping, clubs and restaurants in Plaza Caracol and, yes, a short walk to La Palapa Bélgica.

Very popular with local businessmen and off the beaten path (down a side street), it is not often patronized by tourists. Nice setting, overlooking the lagoon and limited space and away from the crowd. Some rave about how good it is but I was not that impressed in my one trip there- I believe I wrote a review on my dining guide (link below). Maybe Jim can forward an opinion.

I have to agree with TonyG. Went there once for lunch with friends years ago because it was highly recommened and the service was slow and the food cold. Nice lagoon view though. Never went back.

I found this 3 day ALL INCLUSIVE at Viva Wyndham for TOTAL cost of $299
whichs includes transfer to hotel.

(It does include a 90 mininte TS presentation,
which I dont find to be any big deal as I will bring a couple resale ads for resort with me which will get me out at the end of the 90 minutes.)
