  • Club Velas Vallarta

In the RCI directory, the Club Velas Vallarta *All Inclusive* is listed twice with different resort codes. They are #6293 & 2688. Does anyone know what the difference is between the two?

Has anyone stayed at this resort? How is the cost of the all inclusive portion relative to other all inclusives?
I haven't stayed at an all-inclusive for over 10 years but a work colleague wants to go and is asking me about the place.

Gord you may want to get in touch with Emmy <iconnections> she owns here. It is a very VERY nice resort.

No, we own at the sister resort (Grand Velas in Nuevo Vallarta). We have visited there (Club Velas Vallarta) but we have never tried the restaurants. Many TUGgers have commented about the restaurants and the mandatory A-I fees. It seems to be OK. Do a search, Gordon.

We love staying at our resort and feel that the meals and drinks are worth every penny we pay but that is a lot less than what RCI charges their exchangers. Their fees are very expensive. JMHO. They have another sister resort by the name of Casa Velas, a very charming resort but not on the beach. We have eaten here several times and it was excellent.

I called them when I was booking to see if there was any difference. They said they were the same resort. When we checked in I asked for a nice room which we did get. They usually put the RCI exchangers in the building near the lobby. Big advantage is that WIFI is available from your room in that building. Otherwise you need to go to the lobby or use their computer center. We felt the all-inclusive, although expensive, was GREAT. We did eat at their sister resort, Casa Velas, twice. (at Emilianos). Be sure and make dinner reservations early in the morning! I would definitely not hesitate to book there again. We may try next time the Grand Velas even though it is more expensive. I hear it is REALLY nice.

I was very happy you posted these links but even with these links my group of friends are backing out (came very close to booking). I will try again in 2 weeks when I return from the Caymans. This group is to hard to please, I might just sit back and let them book a standard hotel AI. But there was talk about Club Med which I would not mind doing.

I own at Velas and have been to Casa but have never even been approached for a sale at Grand Velas, how did you get to do that? How much are the AI's as an owner of Grand Velas in comparison to RCI?

I don't know anything about sales presentation at the Grand Velas. But, AI's are set by the resort not RCI, so just curious by what you mean. Did you mean by comparison to each other? By looking at the fees online, it appears the Grand Velas is a little more expensive than Velas Vallarta

This person said owns at Grand Velas and said AI was cheaper than RCI, so thus my earlier post wondering how they got to buy at Grand Velas and the AI fees for woners there.

I am new to this site so maybe I am doing something wrong in my posts.

I am sorry but I didn't see your post before. We bought at the Grand Velas before it was constructed. It must have been in 2002 judging from my pictures of our first visit at this resort.

They had a sales office there for several years but I don't believe that they have one now. Their sales force seems to be located at the Club Velas now. I would ask them there but you may find a re-sale dirt cheap at this web site here. I saw one recently. Try to find a low contract number and you will have the discount too I mentioned in my post.
