  • Best exchange in Playa Del Carmen/Riviera Maya area

Besides the Grand Mayan, what is another top notch resort affiliated with RCI??? We deposited our Grand Mayan week, therefore, we can't excvhange into that. We are not opposed to all -inclusives as long as they are affordable. Has anyone been to El Cid in the area??? The pictures look gorgeous!!!! Has anyone ever lucked out with Royal Haciendas through SFX???? If so, I would consider going that route for 2009?? How far is the Moon Place from PDC?? Playacar Palace??? does anyone know their AI fees???

    Thanks!!

I like Royal Sands, not quite as luxurious, but still very nice, especially the oceanfront units.

      Check out Sunset Fishermans...

      Sunset Fishermen - Home

Its not the Royal Haciendas but is just a few minutes outside Playa... I am considering this myself for an exchange next year...
AI is only 2 meals a day and quite reasonable (about $65
      per person).

Anyone have any first hand knowledge of this resort????

      Best wishes,
      Paul

Secondhand information I have says that the Sunset Fisherman is quite nice to exchange into- however it is in the Sunset group, so watch your wallet and believe nothing they say.

Do you really think that $65 /pp for 2 meals a day is reasonable?

The $65 per day includes all drinks, water sports etc....

I am not a fan of AI myself, but some of the other Mexican AI resorts are getting $150 - $200 per person per night, hence the "only $65 per night" .

WE stayed at Playacar Palace and it was great. Top notch service, food etc. Higher Ai fees but worth it. Playa del Carmen is certainly not a cheap place. Food and drinks are a bit expensive in my opinion so the AI was perfect and it is walkable to shopping etc.

The beaches well due to erosion and such they, or many have just eroded and fallen into ocean, they have replaced with sand etc. to make beachy areas but those too fell in ocean, there is no beach to speak of in Playacar Palace, great pools though. Public beach very nearby, but again very small.

Extememly close to ferry so you can hop on and go to Cozumel. I liked this resort a lot and found it convenient. We also toured Adventura Palace, very impressive.
