Educate me about the better Cancun Resorts?

I don't pay attention to Mexico. I have no desire to return. However, RCI just made my life a little easier with a new search option. Within the option I get to see Cancun non-AI resorts every day.

Beyond the Royals and Mayans < I'd have had to be pretty braindead to not have picked those up over the years >, what are the resorts that I should post when I see them on the RCI exchange opportunity board?

Although I've never stayed there, the Omni looks nice too. They're right next to the Royal Mayan so I looked around the resort the last time I was there.

What about the brand new Westin Lagunamar? Has anyone gone past it recently? How is it looking? We're really excited. It's been 18 years since our last visit to Cancun...

I'm not sure when is its grand opening, but we traded for a week there in mid-August. Hopefully, we won't meet up with a hurricane!

They do have timeshare units as well as the hotel rooms.
