Where is my DD swimming with dolphins?

This has about undone me.

My daughters dream since she was really little has been to swim with the Dolphins. I am going to oblige her even though I am not comfortable about the captivity thing.

I have poured over every website and place Cancun has to offer. I am not interested in doing it with her-but we would like to watch. Which place will allow spectators?

Xcaret, Xel-ha, Dolphin Discovery, Wet and Wild, Interactive aquarium.

It's making my head spin.

I know I will give her the "Royal Swim" but I have read that some of the places charge heavily for the DVD and pics. Yep-I am going to buy them-so it needs to be reasonable.

I am seriously leaning toward the aquarium because I read that as long as the rest of the family pays for admission that we can watch-are there any other places where you can watch?

I know we are going to take a trip to Isla Mujeres-would it be better to do it over there vs the aquarium? I asked her about tank vs ocean and she was preferable to ocean.

Can you walk from the Royal Sands to the aquarium?

Somebody push me one way or the other.

Kelli did it a xcaret and it was wonderful. You can watch from the top. What I did was do the dolphin encounter and stayed on the dock and took pics and video. I don't know if they still allow that. shaggy

Yes, you can walk to the aquarium from the Sands- just be careful crossing the street. I did the Dolphin swim in the mid 90's at Xcaret when you had to get there early to get a first come first serve spot. We spent a good hour to an hour and a half negotiating the prices of pictures and a t-shirt, the video was expensive and take it or leave it. I think I'll dig up a picture and make a avatar change- about time I found a use for them.
