    Sounds wonderful....have a great time....

We too are going to PV in JUly but only 2 weeks one week at Playa Del Sol Costa Sur ( south side of PV) and one week at Velas where we own.

I also own at Paradise Village in NV nice resort, nice beach.

I know of the other two Sheraton and Rancho Banderas but have never stayed at them. Have stayed in Punta Mita though.

    Enjoy and Happy Vacations!

I stayed at the playa del dol costa sur ywo years ago, enjoyed myself

I was lucky to get a penthouse at Paradise Village in 1999 before exchangers got all the crappy units.

I live about 45 minutes outside Guad. in Lake Chapala or Lago de Chapala. I go to Guad frequently though. It is a huge city, crazy drivers, but lots to do and see. Lots of culture, history , arts, theatre, etc. Lots of great restaurants.

Tonala and Tlaqapaque are awesome. I have not been to either in about a year though but I was there all the time when furnishing my house etc. They are two very different, distinct areas. Tlaq. more pristine while Tonala cheaper and more cultural I think and one of my favorite places.

Guad. no doubt is an amazing city. Cannot even begin to describe it,would need too many pages. We have experienced so many things in Guad, rest., shopping, some great malls, hospitals, special tests and even an overnight stay for son who had tonsils out. Excellent care and personalized. So much more caring than US and that says a lot coming from a nurse LOL.

There is a zoo and water park also in Guad. The zoo s not like many in states but it is a fun thing to do for a day, and very cheap, lot of walking but they have a train to take you around as well. There is a huge market called Libertad, quite the experience for a newcomer.

I at one time wanted to move to Guad. as it was too country bumpkin land here and wanted city excitement but now it is even busy here and well I kind of like the more tranquil life here.

Guad. also has a great airport only 30 minutes from me, under construction again, but gets better and better.....I go there a lot....

If you were to drive to Guad, well that is about a 5 hour ride, and might not be best idea since hard to get around when you do not know Guad, there are over 9 million people there and it is the second largest city in Mexico. You could take a bus from PV or a plane. I suggest the plane, though of course we drive.

Buff: This will be our first stay at Playa del Sol Costa Sur. I really like the south side of PV now, especially since PV has grown so much in last 5 years. We are trying to stay at as many different resorts as possible, usually we do one week in an owned timeshare and then second week in different resort or such. 8 weeks of vacation in coastal resorts in 2007, will be 10-12 in 2008 and well so far looks like 10 or so in 2009 to date....
