I recall it being windy that day plus we were on the top floor which made it worse.

No not in the room we got, The pool had many areas that have the jets.

I was booked to go there one February, but the hurricane hit there the previous October and I changed my reservation to Cabo in the Sol Melia there.
One of these days I have to get to the Sol Melia in Cancun.
