stayed here july 4th to july 11. top two floors of one building. stayed in a large two bedroom unit top floor. two king beds two tvs . excellent base for tours around town. The prices are listed in the lobby. It is across the street from the playa del sol shopping center. plenty of nice restaurants in the area, mariachies too. great history close by. a taxi will take you anywhere. option to take a nice bus to puerto vallarta, manzanillo or matzatlan for another week

Scott how is the area in guadalajara , I had heard it is not nice or safe there.

it is the second largest city in mexico. great historical town, plenty to do. many shopping areas. great deals for boots, belts silver

crime is there like any big city. most tourist use taxis

I go to Guadalajara at least a few times a month, like any big city you have to be aware of your surroundings and such.....there of course is crime as in any big city....I ahve had no problems in Guad though and I go with hubby at times, other times son, and other times just myself or with a girlfriend....

Driving in Guad. is well an experience...LOL. Mostly I feel pretty safe there, but I do not go off the beaten track, I shop, eat, and what have you there. Bring son to orthodontist and such and have even gone at night as they have wonderful malls, restaurants and cinemas........not often at night though, as driving in Mexico is not advised at night, though we do it on occassion. That is due to poor quality roads, loose animals, cows, horse, etc., and poor lighting on many roads.

It is a great historical town......lots to see and do for a tourist! ( Been there, done that though).
