  • PV/NV Restaurants - please recommend!

    Hi,

My husband and I are going to the Grand Mayan NV in November for 2 weeks to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary! We just bought a house and planned this vacation before that, sooo we don't want to spend as much as we normally would have for dinners, etc.

Just wondering if anyone can recommend good but not too expensive restaurants in NV or PV for dinner..

    Thanks

    Karens in Bucerias
Las Almedritos (Nuevo) Close to the Grand Mayan
    Cafe De Olla (Puerto Vallarta)
    Robertos Puerto Nuevo (Puerto Vallarta)
El Pescatore (At Paradise Village Nuevo Vallarta)
There are a few restaurents in the Paradise VIllage Mall including one Mexican that was pretty Good
For an excellent steak Rincon de Buenos Aires (Marina Vallarta)
La Dolce (On the Malecon Puerto Vallarta)
    Pipis Puerto Vallarta

These are restaurants that we have enjoyed and would return to.

The restaurants at the Mayan are good but by the end of the week it will cost you. There is 1 restaurant that I would highly recommend for that special romantic dinner. Ask the hotel or any cab driver to take you to the restaurant on the top of the mountain looking down on PV. Just get there before sunset it is a view you will not forget.

          Good food in PV

Cafe de Olla - romantic zone - good food and not too $$$ - great margs!!!

Barcelona Tapas - nice view of the city and fun menu

Cafe Bohemia - Romantic Zone - great soup of the day and lots of other items

El Encanto - new to us last trip - YUM - going back - fish is banana leaves was awesome as was the "garbage salad"

Los Brujas - Romantic Zone - the shrimp with onions in a foil packet was unbelievable!

We liked the Italian restaurant right at the Grand Mayan, if you don't feel like traveling for dinner one night. Also, there is another good Italian restaurant just north of Grand Mayan a short walk. Just head left out the entrance to the hotel, past the Sea Gardens, and at the corner where the bus stop is located, look across the street and you will see it.
We find going all the way to Puerto Vallarta for dinner to be an expensive cab ride and not worth the hassle. Generally, we go into PV for dinner only once in a week's stay, and find the NV restaurants to be quite good.

Your restaurant choice will really depend on the price. Ive been to some of the restaurants where tourists go and they are overpriced and you get very little on your plate.

If you see the locals at the restaurants then it may be good. I like La Laguna around the corner from the Grand Mayan. I also liked Brazil for 20 dollars all you can eat at the Paradise Village Mall. Not a fan of the expensive restaurants near Paradise Village. I reccomend you go to Buscerias which is close by better restaurants there
