  • Going to Isla Mujeres in Jan!!

I've been full of questions on the forums lately, trying to plan my belated honeymoon for the coming January/February. Thanks to everyone who tried to help out! II finally came through for us on our exchange requests, and we'll be going to Isla de Mujeres January 3-10. Staying at the Avalon Reef Club, which looks pretty nice. Any experiences you'd like to share about the resort or that area?

Whew!!! What a relief to know we'll get that vacation after all. We even got to use United miles to get there for "free."

I will answer later this evening - but u r going to love this resort and location.
What size unit did u get?

You are able to use the facilities at their Cancun resorts as well - I know TonyG likes Club Bacarra(sp)

They have a high speed boat that takes u to/fromCancun right to the resort - very nice.

Haven't been to the resort, but on our trip to Cancun, we took a day trip to Isla Mujeres. Was definitely one of the highlights. Great snorkeling there in the national park. People talk about walking out from the resort for hundreds of yards in the clear blue water. Can get around the island in a golf cart, which is fun. I'm sure others will say more, but I think you'll have a great time.

Never been to that resort but have heard good things. Did do a day trip to Isla Mujeres last year when in Playa Del Carmen and loved the island. A day trip was not enough time.

Last Jan. was unusually cool, ( throughout mexico) so I am hoping for a warmer Jan for you in Mexico this upcoming year.

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

              “You shouldn't wear that body.”

Isla is perfect for a honeymoon you and your spouse should love it. We have not stayed at Avalon but we have stayed at Ixchel, Posada Del Mar, and Nautibeach. Avalon is on its own private island and the buildings look like they are nice, you should enjoy it. Northbeach is a great place to just hang out. The water is bath water warm and it is very shallow. there are many good restaurants in town.

I keep a travel blog here Travels of Pete it helps me to keep track of good restaurants and things to do, it may be helpful to you.

                Have a good trip.
