  • Help me choose a restaurant in P/V Please.!!!

    Hi TS4MS,ers,
jimbosee, from Melbourne Australia. On 3rd May 2009,we will be in Puerto Vallarta, and it will be my wife,Pat's--birthday.I would like to take her and another couple, to a restaurant that will give us panoramic view's of the city.I have had a look at 3 restaurant's,Le Kliff,Las Carmelitas, and El Panorama,at the hotel Suites,La Siesta, all have good review's,so I would like your thoughts about these three,or any other panoramic favourites that you may have.Thank you all.Regards Jim Seedsman.

    'ello mate.

Based upon what you said, Le Kliff won't make your cut. It's way south and looks out over the Bay--not the city. It is a unique restaurant in a spectacular setting however. So if city overview isn't a requirement, I'd still consider Le Kliff. It's a one-of-a-kind place.

Haven't been to Les Carmelitas, so I can't help there. We were at Panorama many years ago and it was good, and had a good view of the city, but wasn't particularly memorable.

Our favorite was Felipe's but they have closed.

I'm sure you'll get other ideas coming in. Someone, I'm sure will recommend Vista Grille but I caution against it. It is seriously overpriced and their view is being compromised by a huge new building being built right in the middle of their vista. Also--don't go to the Cafe des Artistes--it's best days are long behind it.

We were at Vista Grille in April and the view is still very much there. There is additional dining up on the roof top. Panorama is lovely, too. I suspect both restaurants have web sites, though I don't know that, and you could probably find their menus on line.

I second the Vista Grille. I found the food to be much better than el Panorama. The problem with the top level, though, is the lighting. The view is spectacular but it is hard to see your dinner. One level down probably has just as good a view with possibly better lighting.

I have to totally agree with above poster.....Le Kliff is nice as well for a different view but the food well for the money...go to one of the above.

I think Barcelona Tapas has a site online, as well as Las Carmelitas, and both I think have menus....

                Good luck...
