  • Need to rent our Cabo San Lucas 2010 week

I booked our week months ago, at our home resort: Club Casa Dorada at Medano Beach. All excited to go the end of next January...then got pregnant. Which is GREAT, of course!!!
But it means no Mexico trips in the near future, so we want to rent out that week to someone who will enjoy it! I posted an ad on our classifieds section here. Anyone know of other reliable websites where I might want to post it?

    Congratulations!

I have had my best luck with RedWeek.com - u can also join TUG and place a free ad.
You might also want to post a free ad on Craig's List - possibly San Diego or Los Angeles - where many people would vacation to that area.

Open up a Craig's List Account for you and one for your husband as they only allow one posting per 'item' - also get two free yahoo mail account for the emails to go to - avoiding spam in your main account.

    Good Luck!
    Pat

Renting out our 2010 Mexico week

      Thanks, Grayfal!
I'll try Redweek, though I see there's a fee to join and then another fee to list. If we get the week rented, it's well worth it.
I glanced at my local craigslist yesterday, and wasn't sure where I would post this (as in, which section of the ads). Suggestions? I like the idea of using Cali's...

Go to craigslist: los angeles classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events

        then "housing" then "Vacation Rentals"

do a search in there for your destination - such as "Cabo" or "Vallarta" and see what your competition is. Look at the different ads and see how the ones you find 'compelling' or 'attractive' are presented/worded...then take the best parts of all of them and use that in your ad.Take the option that does not show your email in the ad - the responses will be filtered thru Craig's list

So, from the main Los Angeles - u can join - remember to first get a throw away email for you and your account and then open a separate email and Craig's list account for your DH.

Make up a NICE CLEAR ad that states specifically WHAT u r renting - I also add the line that "This is the ONLY date I have available"

Be sure to pick 4 pictures to add that represent your resort. People like to see what they are getting. Be sure to check you throw away email account twice per day as sometimes people will send out 3 or 4 inquiries and take the first one that responds.

Let us know how u make out

Think about the fact you are not a member of Redweek at this point!

First you will pay $14.99 to join and then the fee to list. Is this money worth it if you do not rent from this site? Its easy to think it is worth it if you do rent because you might try and add the fee to your rental. It is worth it if you really wanted to join and maybe go on the forums too!

I used Redweek rental two times with no response and rented both holiday weeks from a different source. My resort was full that week both years except for owners who didn't find a renter.

I just listed my unit here for Labor Day next year(Ridge Tahoe) but listing was only for seven days and also got nothing but it only cost me 500 points to try it.

I would use Tug because only fee is to become a member and it is a better forum with much more knowledge on the forums. I would as stated by others try Craigslist which is also free.

As you can see I'm not a big fan any longer of Redweek and have been a member for about three years. Some owners do rent but if you notice its not always because of the site but the resort and weeks. Most of these would rent off any site. I just feel Redweek nickel and dimes you, it cost you to join then to run rental then to run sales ,wishlist. No matter what you decide to use they have another fee and it just seems ridiculous.

There is also a Craigslist specifically for Baja Sur which has many rentals for Cabo. You might try placing an ad there because people might look there since that is where Cabo is located.
