  • Check Out the Mayan Palace website

Hey guys - there is some interesting information on the www.mayanpalace.com website. Go to the Mayan Resorts and then click on good news. There is a brochure that they are supposedly sending to owners.

It mentions free transportation from the airport to the resort.

It also gives a little update on the status of the Mayan Palace in Acapulco and Cabo. Then tells about a new one being built in Buenos Aries, Argentina and a potential one in the US.

I would love to see this to but doubt they could ever build one there. The property required for a MP is huge and the price of real estate in Hawaii is huge as well. I wonder where in the US they want to build but would take a guess and say Orlando.

We were told a couple of years ago that it would be Orlando or Corpus Christi/Padre Island area.

I'm not sure about what is required for the transportation. It may be for owner's only or maybe by calling. We are owners and just upgraded some of out units to Grand Mayan's so we go to them regularly. You do get some extra perks as a Grand owner.

I'll vote for Hawaii too - there are so many nice resorts in Vegas and Orlando already that we can exchange into.

When we were at the Grand Mayan Nuevo Vallarta last month, they showed on their TV channel that Las Vegas is one of their future sites. I don't remember the other sites they mentioned.

They are now looking into Orlando, Vegas and Hawaii. IMO I think they will get Orlando done but I doubt Hawaii will ever happen as the property is expensive there. Vegas I am not sure about as in the desert there is space.

W were at the Grand Mayan Nuevo Vallarta the last 2 weeks of this April. I e-mailed them regarding transportation from the airport to the resort a few days before our arrival. They asked for my flight info and said they would have a bus at no charge to take us to the resort. We waited about 40 minutes and then took a taxi to the resort. Our flight arrived right on time.

I talked to the concierge at the resort and they looked it up and found their e-mail. They apologized profusely and refunded the $21.00 USD that I paid for the taxi. The concierge told me that they do NOT provide transportation. The funny thing is that the e-mail was not from one of the people that work at the concierge desk at the Grand Mayan. It could have been from the MP concierge. In any event they handled it very well. By the way, the taxi fare from the airport to Nuevo Vallarta is a fixed price of $21.00 and is $12.00 from the resort to the airport.

The service from the concierge at the Grand Mayan Nuevo Vallarta is superb. We got to know several of the people working there. One thing I like about the Mayan Palace resorts is that the sales department is completely separate from the concierge which is not true of many resorts including the Royals.

We were never bothered about attending a sales presentation while we were at the resort. This was also true at the Grand Mayan Riviera Maya. We never attend sales presentations regardless of what they offer. Our time is more valuable than anything they can offer. For those that are interested, they were offering $100.00 USD + 15% off most charges to your room such as meals. That would have been a total of about $250.00 USD in our case.
