  • Grand Luxxe Suites/Villas Riviera Maya

Does anyone know if these share the same not-really-swimmable beach as Grand Mayan/Mayan Palace?

And the website is unclear, what's the difference between the suites and the villas?

I'm also curious as to whether construction has been completed. I keep saying No Mexico, but temptations do abound...

YES, BUT THEY ARE BUILDING A NEW BEACH CLUB/POOL/SWIM AREA FOR GRAND LUXXE OWNERS ONLY....IF YOU ARE LOOKING DOWN TOWARD THE WATER, IT WILL BE TO THE LEFT WHERE THE VILLAS ARE LOCATED AS WELL - TO THE LEFT OF MAYAN PALACE UNITS.

And the website is unclear, what's the difference between the suites and the villas?

ONE UNITS LOCK-OFF IS A MINI 1BR UNIT WHILE THE OTHER IS A TYPICAL STUDIO....DO NOT KNOW WHICH IS WHICH

I'm also curious as to whether construction has been completed. I keep saying No Mexico, but temptations do abound..

THE FIRST UNITS OPEN NOVEMBER 1.... CONSTRUCTION IS FAR FROM OVER.
Friends were there over Christmas break.... if you are planning a year out I say go for it.

        Grand Luxxe

Photos of Suites and Villas - looking for the floor plans

        Grand Luxxe

Okay - Villa Floor plan 2900 sq ft..... Villa Floor Plan Master Suite

The Master Grand Luxxe Villa is the largest available and approximately 2,900sf. It can be split up in two configurations:

•Luxxe Junior Villa: 1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom and Capacity of 2+2 (Mini-1BR/separate living area)
        •Luxxe Villa: 1 Bedroom, 1.5 Bathroom, Kitchen/Dinning area and Capacity of 4

The Six Levels of Grand Luxxe Residence Club Ownership:

Grand Luxxe Master Room (Lock Off Room) Grand Luxxe Jr Villa (Lock Off Suite) BIGGER
Grand Luxxe Suite (1 BR) Grand Luxxe Villa Suite (1 BR) BIGGER

Grand Luxxe Master Suite Deck (2 BR) Grand Luxxe Villa Master Suite Deck (2 BR) BIGGEST!

"In all cases, the two bedroom configuration is the combination of
the Grand Luxxe Suite plus the Lock Off Master Room or
the Grand Luxxe Master Villa Suite plus the Jr. Villa.Bigger!

This is the smaller - so Grand Luxxe Master Suite + Master Room

The Magic Word is "Villa" that indicates it is the bigger unit. You want to NOT take a Master Room as this is just a small/"Marriott style" studio.

Irene and I also met a couple who owned 4 weeks of this new ownership and the location of the Luxxe in Nuevo Vallarta is sooooooo much better - all units are in an oceanfront building - not the case in Riviera Maya.

I believe some board members are going to NV in March so can provide more info.

Having been to both locations, I also prefer NV area.

I'm sure I would like NV better, but flights are not as simple, or haven't been when I've looked. Is the beach swimmable at Grand Luxxe/NV?

For any 4M members going there soon, please report back! Thanks.

Yes, swimable beaches - yes, non-stops from Newark on Continental....yup, time change from the east coast is a BIG deterent for me - so I went for 2 weeks!

I would return to the RM WHEN they finish the pool area and I would do a rental car - I felt a bit like a prisoner when I was there without one.

Forget my "never say never," I really don't think I will ever get over my paranoia about driving in Mexico, so a rental car is a no go for me if they ever manage to get me back there - I was not thrilled with Cancun the last time I was there and RM does seem isolated but I thought it could do for a short holiday destination trip. I'll look at NV flights again.

The driving will be for back and forth to Play Del Carmen - everything else I would take the escorted bus tours.

The beach at the GM Rivera Maya has not been very appealing since the huricane a few years back.

DH and I will be at Grand Mayan NV next week. Not the Lux or Bliss or whatever the upgraded membership is called, but the one with the Lazy River. I will report back as a 1st time visitor.

Anything specific you want me to check-out?

Go to the dollar store and purchase your tubes for the crazy/lazy river.

Looking at the ocean, we enjoyed the seafood restaurant right down on the water all the waaay to the left - in front of the Mayan Palace and now right near the triangular Luxxe Building.

Do not under any circumstances do the tour - they keep u for 5-6 hours.

I command you to have a great time - and did you know they will transport you for free from the airport?
Contact the resort to make these arrangements - they will need your flight information.

The smallest unit in the GL is not small. It's huge. I believe they were also going to put mini-kitchens in them. These units are absolutely gorgeous.

Don't go out of your way, I am curious about the service, beach, and the general experience. Also dining and other expenses, generally. Have a great time!

They look incredible. IF we were to go, we'd need a two bedroom unit regardless.

Yup, got the transportation from the airport reserved.

Does Walmart have the tubes for the lazy river?

Is that Eddie's restaurant on the water?

Don't worry we will not do the tour - if they persist, we will tell them that we're not married to each other, that our spouses are back home. You know how hotel personnel like to gossip

                            Thanks!

Careful, they might try to blackmail you into buying!
