Does Walmart have the tubes for the lazy river?

Is that Eddie's restaurant on the water?

Don't worry we will not do the tour - if they persist, we will tell them that we're not married to each other, that our spouses are back home. You know how hotel personnel like to gossip

    Thanks!

The tour can be brutal but they don't pressure you to take it. We have spent 10 weeks at the Grand Mayans on exchanges in both Riviera Maya and Nuevo Vallarta. When we check-in we just tell them that we don't do sales presentations and that is it, no pressure at all and they don't contact us again. There is no need to make excuses.

I still book Brant Boston to take me to and from the resort. No waiting and a great service that is not expensive to use. Besides he even posts here and he posted a helicopter view of the hurricane a few years back.

What are the options for using the lazy river? Does Grand Mayan provide tubes for you? Can you bring your own?

We will be there later this month as well, and looking forward to it!

Why pay somebody when the Grand Mayan ( Riviera Maya ) shuttle is free to the resort? There is no waiting and they take you direct to the resort.

Thanks John, that is good to know. From some posts it appeared that recruiters continuously called and chased you around throughout the week hounding you to tale a tour.

Thanks Frank - I did use Brant Boston when traveling in Cancun, but didn't know he also operated in Nuevo.

The GM NV provides tubes for you - at least they did two years ago. We do an annual all family trip at Thanksgiving and had a great time there. All the grandkids had a ball.

The rooms are beautiful and they are constantly cleaning everything. If the flights weren't so expensive, I would take everyone every year. Trading in was the cheapest part!

Just make sure that you tell them NO right after you check-in. Don't just ignore them or they will call you each morning. They have always been very nice when I told them we don't do sales presentations and they never bothered us.

I had forgotten that - sometimes get my resorts confused!

No trip to the store for Maria..... and yes, I agree they do not bug you about the tours.

Pat H, I agree that even the Luxxe lock-off is nice AND big - I just prefer to have a separate sleeping/living area so even the other lock-off would do.
I know you and I saw two models - was the smaller one the Bliss or the smaller suite unit (not Villa) pictured above???

I think we saw both GL and the Grand Bliss. The GL had the nice deck, swings and hammocks.

                          Confusing names for Grand Luxxe

                          Hello,

I found this thread because I was looking for clarification on exactly what the Grand Luxxe Villa and Grand Luxxe Suite is. The post with all the floor plans really helped. Thanks!

I use another "Grand Luxxe" site also, and in my RSS feed, this explanation was just posted that made everything even more clear. So maybe it's useful for someone else too.

BTW, I stuck the URL in the "Send Trackbacks" spot. Is this correct?

                          Thanks
                          Colin.
