  • Grand Luxxe Residence Club Riviera Maya

I just saw a 2 bedroom unit on II for next January. I have been to the Grand Mayan at both Nuevo Vallarta and Cabo but never Riviera Maya.

Does anyone know much about the Grand Luxxe units? Where are they located on the property. Also what amenities are there? I believe it has its own pool? Spa? Do you have access to the rest of the resort?

Any suggestions on things to do in the area would also be appreciated.

    Thanks,

We have spent 8 weeks at the Grand Mayan - Riviera Maya on exchanges. You will be able to use all of the resort's amenities. You can use any of the resort's amenities that are at the level your are staying in or below. For example Grand Mayan guests can use all of the Grand Mayan and Mayan Palace pools, amenities etc. but Mayan Palace guests can't use the Grand Mayan pools or amenities.

Our favorite attraction in the area is Xcaret. We take the tour from the resort. Make sure you do the evening show. We have done this tour 3 times.

    Cancun most amazing eco-archaeological park

    Attractions Activities Cancun Xcaret Mexico

We have also done the Chichen Itza tour from the resort.

    Chichen Itza

We have done the Xel-Ha - Tulum tour.

Tulum Xel Ha | Tulum Tours | Xel Ha Tours

You can visit the island of Cozumel. Take the ferry from Playa del Carmen.

We booked all our tours directly from the Grand Mayan.

This is a great resort and you should enjoy it very much.

The Grand Luxxe units are the most Luxurious units in the timeshare industry. I have stayed several times in their current two locations, Riviera Maya and Nuevo Vallarta (last week).

And the Service was "fantastic". I have not seen service like this at any other timeshare resort. It is outstanding !!

            Grand Luxxe Rivera Maya

We are spending our first week here now. Very impressed with the room appointments and spaciousness. However the Grand Luxxe building is only 3 floors and does NOT have any views of the beach/ocean. Call me finicky, but I upgraded to get the views of the beach/ocean

There is also no "lazy river" like in NV and the pool and beach are too far from the GL building.

The only real reason to stay here in the Grand Luxxe is access to Chicken Pizza, Tulum and Xcaret, which you can get from a multitude of hotels in this area.

Oh well, back to NV next time.

Any one know if the Grand Luxxe in Argentina has been completed?

Argentina is getting a Mansions of the World. I was told these are basically hotel rooms.

So far the only Grand Luxxe units are in Nuevo Vallarta and Mayan Riviera. They were supposed to start building a Luxxe building in Acapulco this summer once they took out the water park.

You should have known that the buildings are only 3 stories with no ocean views before you arrived. We like both the Riviera Maya and Nuevo Vallarta locations but we prefer the Riviera Maya mainly because of Xcaret, Xel-Ha, etc.

No question the Nuevo Location has better views. We enjoyed our first stay last November and are looking forward to our next trip over this Thanksgiving Week. The units are larger than the Grand Mayan and Grand Bliss, which gives those of us who like space all that we want. Huge decks too, perfect for spending time looking at the ocean, beach, pool, river, etc.

But the water at the Riviera Maya side is to die for. Beautiful! Fish too. Tulum, Xcaret, caves and other archeological sites are great attractions. The drawback from our Pacific Coast perspective is the distance. Maybe we will over come that issue.

Either way, if you get a chance to stay at the Grand Luxxe, you are not likely to be disappointed. I say that, and then realize you can't please all the people all the time. So, it may not be the right place for some.....a friend of ours for example would be very uncomfortable there.

Sorry about the big photos.....not sure how to reduce them.

I've been to both the GM in Nuevo and in Riviera Maya, and we upgraded to the Luxxe. Take a look at a couple of the reviews of the Luxxe at TripAdvisor. I had a fantastic time down in RM, but I think you should know a couple of things. First, if you're not a member, you'll be paying for internet. Second, it is a sprawling resort, and very heavily landscaped. So expect to do a lot of walking, but don't be concerned about asking for lifts from staff. There are maps available, but I did spend a lot of time lost. Third, the beach is unswimmable. I'll be curious to hear if you have any updates about the beach repair project that is supposed to take place this fall -- is it actually happening?

The food is excellent, and Jade has a reasonably priced sandwiches. You're at a world class resort, so food's not cheap, but it is worth the price. You'll have a blast!

What more to ask here at Grand Luxxe. I enjoyed my stay here a lot.

Do a search for "Grand Luxxe timeshare resales". You should find plenty. I did a search a few weeks ago and they ranged in price from $14,000 to $140,000.
