Real Club Membership

Does anyone have any information about buying Real Resort vacation memberships? I am looking at purchasing 50 weeks from a couple who bought 300+ weeks in 2007. I initially thought that the weeks purchased would entitle me to the benefits of the gold 2 membership.
I have attempted to find out from the Real group about current costs of memberships and how resale weeks factor into their membership program. Real Resort policy is that they DO NOT give out any information on membership costs to non members. Prospective member or not...
The original owners, purchased their weeks in 2007 and the membership rules and obligations have changed. I want to get all facts (and figures) before I sign anything. The purchase agreement does state that all new owners agree to a new membership with Real resorts.
I am hoping I can get the LOW DOWN before I put any money down.

Real in Cancun, Mexico, has gotten quite a few negative comments from buyers there, so I would be very careful before buying into any of their resorts. Double checking will be good- double posting will get you in trouble.

Hi 2012aquagirl ,

Before you purchase a timeshare, you should do a proper investigation in order to make your buying decision based on solid information.
Buying a timeshare is something suitable for your needs if:

a) You like to visit the same places.
b) You don't take the purchase as an invesment
c) You know, when and where you will take your vacations several months before booking.

Nevertheless you should keep in consideration, the regular timeshare holder can get better deals online than by using his own timeshare.
