  • MP & GM Internet

We are going to Riviera Maya Mayan Palace & Grand Mayan (1 week at each) in January. Do they have WI-Fi available somewhere on site, or a business center with internet access? If either, is there a charge, and how expensive?
Give me a place with 4 S's: Sun, sand, surf, & suds-Dale (from Illinois)

My youngest son & wife are there now and at the Riviera MP. He goes to what he calls and "Internet Cafe" on site and contacts us on Yahoo Messenger because he says his cell phone won't work there and phone calls are $6.50 a minute. He says they have high speed and it is $7.00 per hour. Have a nice trip.

Thanks for the info. For $7/hr 2-3 times to keep in touch, I'm not lugging a laptop! If the kids have any recommendations for a 58 yr old couple, please PM me. THX again!

My son said on most of the computers all the text (instructions) were in spanish but the icons and symbols were the same so he could get by. They had a couple that were english but always busy. Good luck.

Does this mean there is no in-room internet access? In this cafe, can you use your own computer? Is it wireless in there?

They do not have wireless at the "Internet Cafe". You can pick up WIFI in building 7 of the Grand on the 1st floor (near the room ending in 25) during the day.

We took our laptop to Playa and would go to Ajua Maya for a couple of beers and check using their free WIFI. Food is good there too. We have a small 3# notebook that I just put in my tote bag and we took it with us whenever we went in to Playa.

Thanks for the information. I guess I won't bother bringing the laptop then. Shucks, I guess I can't do work while on holidays.

But that'll also mean I won't be here much either! I'll have a tonne of reading when I get back.
