Mayan Palace Riveria

My "son of my heart" is getting married in Oct.

I have a hold on the Mayan Palace till the end of the day with SFX. Is this a good place for their honeymoon?

Thoughts? How is the beach? How about snorkeling?

It is for the GM , but as the MP and GM share the same grounds, most of it applies.

The beach at the MP isn't much, nice sand but the rocks in the water make it a little hard to snorklel

I love the place and I am sure they will love it to, IMO it would be perfect for them.

They would most certainly love using the king sized beds under the palapas and the food in all the restaurants are really good!

It is a beautiful place, the grounds are really nice. The pools are super but depending on when you go they could be cold. We went in November last year and the pools were so cold hardly anyone was using them. We went in a few times but not all that much. The beach is rocky and not very swimable right behind the resort but you can walk down a ways and find some spots where you can swim. For good snorkeling they will need to take a trip either south or north from the resort or over to Cozumel. As others have said the restaurants are quite good and while some of them are a bit pricey the food is excellent. They also have bands that play most nights in one of the restaurants near the beach, if they want to go dancing. When we were there they had a latin band and a rock cover band that would switch off every other nite.

It is a wonderful resort and I think honeymooners will absolutely love it.

I agree that it would be an excellent choice. We have stayed 4 weeks at the Grand Mayan and are going again in April for another 2 weeks. We are not owners.
