  • Royal Mayan Airport Pick-Up

Hello group! My fiance and I are going to need trasnport from the CUN airport in July of '09. I've heard it can be daunting. Will the Royal Mayan pick us up, or should we pre purchase a ride from the airport? Any advice will be welcome. Thanks, Wade

There is a service offered through Thomas Moore to/from the Royals, it can be reserved online here. I have used it and been pleased:

    Royal Resorts - Airport Transfers

This way you know what you are paying, etc... You will have to fend off taxi offers on your way out of the airport, be sure to follow the instructions on your Thomas Moore confirmation to find the right driver (some try to impersonate Thomas Moore reps, but they are clearly marked and will have your name)

Others may have ideas for ways to save a few dollars, but this worked for us for several years running.

And, last but not least.[SIGN]Welcome to TS4Ms[/SIGN]

For 2, Thomas More is probably the best way to go. I usually just got a spot on a van when leaving the airport, and for larger parties I would suggest entertainment plus or one of the other transport outfits.

We are going in May and a lot of folks have recommended, Entertainment-Plus, you can check out their website.

        Entertainment Plus - Cancun Mexico

What are the recommendations for the return trip to the airport?

Without a RT plan, take a taxi.

              Thanks all!

This will be very helpful. I'm sure I'll have other questions as we continue to plan for our trip.

Our return trip will be from the Omni, where we will be staying for our second week! I believe they have an airport shuttle.....but I'll have to check on that. Wade

P.S. Any preferences on "must do" activities? We have definitely decided to take a day trip to Chichen Itza or Tulum. Do you recommend paying for and scheduling most excursions prior to arriving? Thanks again, Wade

I would suggest booking through Entertainment Plus. For trips, Chitzen-Itza and Xcaret are great, but Chitzen Itza in July will be dangerously hot. Perhaps Tulum would be better in July - at least you'll have the ocean breeze (bring a swimsuit-there is a beach).
