Transportation from Mayan Palace to Ferry in Cancun/Isla Mujures

Can anyone suggest the best way to get to PUERTO JUAREZ FERRY TERMINAL
As we will be leaving the Mayan Palace on a Saturday morning to spent a few days on the Isla Mujures.
Some people have suggest the shuttle to Playa del Carmen, then the bus to the terminal in Cancun, then the taxi to the ferry. We have good bit of luggage and I am not sure of shuttles and suitcases?
Any suggestions?

another helpful tool to get is 'maps' which are really travel guides from the map chick....they have Riviera Maya and Isla Mujeres.
