  • What criteria does Mayan use to enforce the 1-in-5 rule?

I know it's RCI only. Is it based purely on the RCI account # used for the reservation? Name and RCI acct. #? Does RCI Points vs. RCI Weeks matter?

I ask because we visited a Mayan property in May of 2005, and have a week booked for May 2010...that shouldn' be a problem for us, but on top of that, I'm considering trying to exchange for a week through RCI, and then do a direct exchange (via a guest certificate) with another timeshare owner so that we can go to Grand Cayman (circumventing Morritt's 1-in-4 rule).

I do not have RCI Points, but have read on other posts that the 1-in rule does not apply to those. They could change that on any whim however just like how many years are in the 1-in. Sometimes the MP/GM rule is 1-in-4 and other times 1-in-5. The 1-in rule does not apply to MP owners.
