Grand Mayan Riviera Maya - Internet and Pool

I'm now a Grand Mayan convert...next stop is Nuevo Vallarta. I understand that the GM there "puts this one to shame". (According to some of the guests)

We have stayed 4 times at the Grand Mayan - Riviera Maya and once at the Grand Mayan - Nuevo Vallarta. All 5 visits were for 2 weeks each. We are not owners, going each time on an exchange.

Both resorts are great. It depends on what your preferences are. We like both for different reasons. Obviously we prefer Riviera Maya which is why we have been there 4 times vs 1 time at Nuevo Vallarta. A lot has to do with the area. I did like the fact that we had an awesome ocean view unit from the top floor at Nuevo Vallarta. I took hundreds of pictures from the balcony. However, we found the Riviera Maya to be more relaxing because it is so spread out. The pools are much better at Riviera Maya but the Nuevo Vallarta GM has the lazy river. The Nuevo Vallarta GM has a very good beach for swimming and body surfing. For us the main attraction to the Riviera Maya is the abundance of cultural attractions, especially Xcaret which is awesome.

I wouldn't say that either one is better than the other. It just depends what you are looking for.
