  • Best units from Wyndham Mountain View?

    We've 9 nights in a 3BR Deluxe. I'd like inputs just in case I get a choice.

Any other pros or cons and tips would be appreciated.

As I already said, they're all nice, and nothing to view but other buildings and Welk.

Anyone else ever been to Branson? I'd appreciate pros or cons and tips from travelers. Maybe all this has been covered elsewhere already.

OK, which Mountain View unit looks down onto a pool and/or the tiny "stream" to have some resemblance of a pleasing look, at something besides just the building next door? Has anyone ever stayed here? What are some positives? Which unit or building would you recommend or not recommend?

For the brief time that we did grocery shopping for timeshare guests, we did a delivery to a 3-bedroom unit at Mountain Vista.

            It was very nice. Very.

But, then again, it was Branson, so, by default, not nice for some.

There's a very good chance that a 3-bedroom unit takes up all the building, front to back, so that it has a balcony out back where the landscaping/water effect is located. Like this:

              http://www.tripbound.com/timg/L3RodW..._Exterior.gif/

But, then, if this is the layout, it looks like the balcony would be on the end of the building:

              http://sunorsnowvacationrentals.com/...d%20Deluxe.gif

But, we have become accustomed to the older, tacky, Florida beach resorts, which are comfortable and just fine, so over-the-top, luxury resorts like Fairham Mountain Vista are way beyond what we would expect any more. (But the girls did used to go to Fairham Nashville for Girls' Week Out.)

Somehow, tacky on the beach and huge and luxurious in Branson seem to equate.

Discount ticket place sent me the flier with receipt for him. Now they called today saying he opens May 15th. We are out of there the 10th. What other show to grab that's worth a hoot?

Seems odd nobody has any input, one way or the other, concerning Branson.

We have stayed many times at Mountain Vista but don't have a unit preference. There really isn't much of a view from any of the units, so we just take whatever they assign us. As far as shows go, a lot depends on individual taste. The activities center there at Wyndham sells discount tickets to many of the shows. We like Six, the Showboat Branson Belle, Pierce Arrow and the shows at Silver Dollar City are usually pretty good too. There are other theatres that you have to see who is performing on the dates you are there.

Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip!

                        Robert:

You have exceeded your limit of PMs, and need to clear some to send/receive more.

Here is the answer to your last question . . . Paducah to Charleston, MO:

Speaking of SIX, the oldest of the ten Brothers, six of whom are SIX, pleaded guilty to income tax evasion this week and is facing up to 12 years in prison. He had not been paying State or federal for something like 2009-2015, and owed around $250,000. The State of Missouri had a tax amnesty period, and he took care of that obligation that way, but not the Federal obligation.

I believe Robert knows there are around 100 shows in Branson, and many other attractions, but they are a lot different since the last time he came through, and we had a pleasant drive around the lake.

Depending on how lately you have been to Pierce Arrow, it could be a lot different. It has been a revolving door of performers for the last ten years. At this point I believe they only have 3 live musicians on stage and the rest is recorded tracks.

                          Thanks shorts.

Did the dinner/show cruise years ago. Disappointed that for most of it, we were shut up inside so very little time was allowed for experiencing the lake. Might better do a dinner/show in town.

We most likely will travel in by way of Mammoth Spring.

Years ago we went to Fairfield Bay Resort and a country music show at Mountain Home in Arkansas.

Toward the end of Trip West, I drove from Topeka, Kansas by way of the Joplin, MO stockyard and auction. Departed Branson up to the largest Bass Pro at Springfield then eastward via Mark Twain Forest.

What else should we take in this time?

                            Not really.

Tastes vary, but shows getting the most kudos are SIX, Clay Cooper, Moses, Hot Rods and High Heels (50's).

                            http://www.1branson.com/forum/f4.html

A lot of the traditional shows get a lot of mention on that board because there are a lot of Branson traditionalist who hang out there.

Wanna start a brouhaha there, just post something bad about Branson or something good about timeshares.

Yeah Jim. Been to Branson1 a couple times already. Not a whole lot of help. I did see that the Oak Ridge Boys return from April 26-28 for their only shows until September. Figures with us getting in on May 1st.

I appreciate your help thus far.
